SpyMarshal is a fake anti-spyware application that gets downloaded and installed onto user's computer without him being aware of it. The instalation is often performed by a Trojan downloader or through browser exploits. SpyMarshal will load on every Windows startup and will display a large number of unwanted pop-up advertisements, including the ones with fake security notifications that user's computer is infected with malware.
